Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon and it changed the world forever. When the “Eagle”, the lunar module, landed on the moon Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, they explored the unknown territory for two hours and thirty-one minutes collecting over 50 pounds of lunar materials. When the astronauts were surveying the moon, a small camera was placed to broadcast the footage on Earth.

When the astronauts finished observing the lunar surface, they reboarded the “Eagle” to be brought back to the Command Module. From thence forward, the Apollo 11 Command Module gradually floated back to Earth signifying the success of sending a man to the moon. Later the shuttle was recovered by the USS Hornet and brought out of the oceon and can be found on display at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum.
